Lego Jello Shots

By now I'm sure that everyone has seen The King of Random's Jello Lego video.  I wanted to do something similar, except with jello shots for my husband's lego themed birthday party. At first I ordered the ice molds for the jello, and I have to say that these babies are HUGE, I highly suggest buying the silicone molding that the King of Random did if you want real sized jello shots. I used the King of Random's video as a jumping off point since I would be adding alcohol and I was out of karo syrup.

3 Knox Gelatine packets
3/4 cup cold water
1 small package of jello
1 cup ice cold vodka
Pan release spray

1. Pour cold water into sauce pan, sprinkle knox gelatine over water, allow to bloom (gel), this will prevent lumps. After knox gelatine has bloomed pour in jello and stir well

2. Turn heat to medium low, and heat while stirring until simmering, about 10 minutes.

3. If bubbles/foam has formed pour into a large heat proof cup and allow to set for 5 minutes, skim off bubbles. While this is cooling, spray your silicone molds with pan release.

4. Pour vodka into the jello, stir gently and then pour the mixture into your condiment container for easy dispensing.

5. Dispense jello into molds, chill in fridge for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until set. Carefully unmold.

For more intricate molds I suggest running your thumb along the edges so that they loosen and don't tear.
